PC Controls Guide

The Roblox description for Bug Fixes is almost only controls. That is a gift and a trap. A gift because the binds are official. A trap because eight letters with no context make new players mash R in a panic. This page is the context. Print the compact version on the controls sheet after you understand the verbs.

Bug Fixes is a PC-first Roblox melee game. Full mobile and console layouts are not finished. If you are on a gamepad without a keyboard, several of these binds simply do not exist in a comfortable way. The developer wrote that mobile and console support is currently intended for people with keyboard attachments. Believe that sentence.

Official combat binds

KeyActionWhy it matters
XBow or sheathHonor language and weapon state
BPrayArmor grind and roleplay
E, Q, FDirectional cutsYour actual offense
RChange stanceTiming and angle
GDisplaceFootwork, not a dash-to-win
=Take off hatSilhouette and the drop-hat prompt

Movement uses standard Roblox WASD and camera. Slot 1 is fist. Slot 2 is katana. Community clips also show a drop-hat world prompt and, in some sessions, freecam for filming. Freecam is a spectator or content tool, not a duel tool. Do not confuse it with G.

X — bow or sheath

X is two social states sharing one key. Bowing is how you show you read honor. Sheathing is how you stop looking like you want a fight in a prayer circle. If you X in a duel by accident, you may eat a cut. Practice the timing in an empty pocket of the map before you use it as etiquette.

B — pray

Pray is not flavor text. Players grind kabuto and red samurai plates by praying a lot. One long session compared it to a Criminality currency grind. Use B when you intend to farm, not when you intend to parry. The loop is documented on armor and paced on the pray tool. Interrupting someone mid-pray is a social choice; the game will not stop you.

E, Q, F — directional cuts

These three keys are the whole argument of the melee system captainwoodlegs is credited for. They are not three cosmetics on one attack. Change the direction to match the other player’s stance and camera. If you bind all three to one mouse button in an executor, you are not learning the game. See how to fight for when to throw which line.

R — change stance

R is the skill expression key. A stance change alters how your next cut reads. The stances page ranks habits, not mystical classes. Mash R and you will whiff. Tap R after you see their shoulders.

G — displace

Displace is a short commitment to a new footing. It is closer to a step than to a flash step. Use it to leave a bad angle or to enter a cut, not to run the entire lantern field. Movement covers spacing around torii and stacked rocks.

Equals — hat off

Hats are part of the silhouette. Taking the hat off is listed in the official description because the game cares about that silhouette. Some servers show a drop-hat prompt. If your hat vanishes and you think you are bugged, press = again before you rejoin.

Chat: kurosawa

Not a keybind, but it lives next to controls in the description. Typing kurosawa enables cinematic mode. Do not type it mid-duel unless you like dying in widescreen.

Mouse, camera, and filming

Impressions videos use freecam to show map composition: lanterns, rocks, torii, cherry color. That is for trailers. In a real fight, keep a camera you can track. If a patch adds more camera binds, they will land on updates.

If a bind does nothing

  1. Confirm you are in Bug Fixes, place 100971017807798, not a similarly named title.
  2. Confirm you have a keyboard focus. Chat steals keys.
  3. Confirm you are not in cinematic mode.
  4. Rejoin once. Playtest-era clips still mention testing-phase jank.
  5. Only then look at scripts or patch notes. Most “broken F” reports are chat focus.

Once the keys are in your hands, go back to getting started if you still need spawn context, or jump to how to fight and the tier list.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What are the main combat keys?

E, Q, and F for directional cuts, R to change stance, G to displace, X to bow or sheath, B to pray, and = to remove your hat.

Is there a controller map?

Not a complete one. The developer says console and mobile are unfinished and meant for keyboard attachments.

Why does F type in chat instead of cutting?

Chat has focus. Close the chat box, then press F. This is the most common "broken bind" report.

Where is the compact cheat sheet?

On the tools controls sheet. This page is the explanation; the sheet is the table you keep on a second monitor.
