How to Fight in Bug Fixes
Win duels with E, Q, F, and R instead of a hidden ultimate.
Bug Fixes duels look slow until they are not. The melee system is credited to captainwoodlegs: directional cuts, stance, and a camera that wants you to think like a fight scene. If you came from a Roblox battlegrounds title, unlearn the kit. There is no ranked queue documented. There is a 50-player field and whoever reads the other stance first.
This page assumes you already know the binds on controls. If you do not, stop here and learn X, B, E, Q, F, R, G, and =. Fighting without those verbs is just running with a sword on your back.
The three-cut rule
E, Q, and F are directions, not strength tiers. Throw the cut that matches the opening, not the cut you rebound to your mouse wheel. A player who only presses F is readable by the third exchange. Mix:
- One line to test their stance.
- One line after you tap R.
- One line as they recover from a whiff.
If all three miss, you do not need a new sword. You need space. That is displace on G, not a fourth invisible key.
Stance is the parry
R changes stance. The stances page ranks habits. In a fight, treat R as a commit. Change before you enter, or change after you see their shoulders, not during your own cut. Double-tapping R because you are nervous is how you eat a directional hit while your character is still turning.
Watch kabuto players. Armor does not auto-win, but it changes silhouette and confidence. Some red plates also show up in musket lines from the gun teaser. A musket is a different argument. Do not directional-cut a volley as if it were another katana.
Honor is optional until it is not
You can ignore bowing and still click. Many servers will still answer a bow on X with a bow. That pause is a free read. Use it. If they refuse to bow and sprint, you already know the table. Honor explains the social layer; this page only cares that X can sheath you at the worst time. Do not honor-bind in the middle of a cut.
How to beat common habits
The masher. They pick one of E Q F and recycle it. Stance-change into the gap, then displace past the recovery.
The pray grinder. They want armor, not a duel. You can walk away. If you attack anyway, they may still be in B. That is a free cut and a reputation hit.
The cinematic tourist. They typed kurosawa and cannot track you. Cinematic mode is pretty and bad for defense. Punish the camera, then let them live if you are feeling like a samurai.
The hatless runner. = is cosmetic until you lose the outline you were tracking. Recenter the camera. Do not chase a hat across the lanterns.
The musket line. This is a formation, not a 1v1. Break angle, do not trade mid-lane. Loadout notes sit on loadouts.
A simple duel loop
- Bow or don’t, but decide before you draw.
- Draw katana (slot 2).
- Step until their camera is uncomfortable.
- One test cut.
- R if they answered with a stance you can punish.
- G if they answered with a charge.
- Stop. Reset. Do not infinite-string; the animations are the point.
After you win or lose
If you won because they mashed, you learned nothing. Find someone who uses R. If you lost to armor, go pray on purpose later using the pray tool, then come back. If you lost to a gun, read updates so you know whether muskets are a keep. Then return to getting started only if spawn still confuses you.
Scripts will not teach this. A kill aura on a directional-melee title is obvious and fragile. If you still want executor notes, they are isolated on scripts. Fighting well is the intended content.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I beat someone who only spams one cut?
Change stance with R into their recovery, then displace with G. One-key players are readable after two exchanges.
Does armor make you unbeatable?
No. Kabuto and red plates change look and confidence. Directional reads still win. Armor is a grind, not a god mode.
Should I bow before every fight?
It is etiquette, not a hitbox. Bow if you want the pause and the read. Skip it if they are already sprinting.
Where do I practice without 50 players?
Use a quieter server hour or the edge of the map. There is no documented dummy mode. Movement drills are on the movement page.
