Getting Started in Bug Fixes

From spawn fog to a real duel without treating the description as a tutorial.

Getting Started

Bug Fixes is a live Roblox samurai and ronin melee game. You do not get a quest arrow. You get a map that looks like stacked ink, a hotbar that starts with fist and katana, and a description that reads like a poem plus keybinds. This page is the first hour.

Join from the official place on a computer. The developer states there is no full console or mobile support yet. Keyboard attachments are the only intended workaround. If you spawn, cannot cut, and your thumbs hit a blank UI, that is the platform gap, not a broken character. Read mobile play and keep controls in a second tab while you walk.

What you should see in the first minute

  • A foggy field, stone lanterns, torii, and pink cherry-like trees.
  • Slot 1 as fist, slot 2 as katana.
  • Other players in kimonos, some already wearing kabuto.
  • Occasional hat drop prompts and honor emotes (bow, pray).
  • Up to 50 people on the server, which is enough for a crowd and still small enough that a single duel can own the shot.

If the hotbar never appears, rejoin. MorphToR15 is forced; your catalog avatar will be rewritten into the game’s body language. That is normal.

First actions, in order

  1. Move without swinging. Learn the camera. This title cares about framing. If you immediately mash, you will look like a tourist in someone else’s movie.
  2. Sheath and bow (X). Other players read X as intent. A bow before a cut is how honor shows up in clips. Details live on honor.
  3. Draw the katana (slot 2). Fist is not your main argument.
  4. Throw one directional cut. E, Q, and F are not the same swing. Pick one, watch the arc, then read how to fight.
  5. Change stance once (R). You do not need to master every stance today. You need to feel that R is a real decision. Rankings sit on stances.
  6. Displace (G) when someone commits. It is a reposition, not a teleport to safety. Movement covers spacing.
  7. Pray (B) only after you can survive a duel. Armor is a grind, not a tutorial reward. When you are ready, open armor.

What this game is not

It is not a simulator with daily codes. It is not a battlegrounds kit with twelve named ultimates. It is not fully playable on a phone. Treat those search results as other games. The creator also made cowboy game and winter; those systems do not carry over except for a taste for quiet maps and custom animation.

Social rules at spawn

Servers mix duelists, armor grinders, and people filming. If a line of red kabuto is marching with muskets, that is probably the gun test shown in gun teaser, not a raid boss. If someone stands still praying, do not farm them unless the table you sat down at is a fight. Honor is the fantasy. You can ignore it, but the player base notices.

Hats come off with =. That is both a joke and a silhouette change. Some clips show “drop hat” as a world prompt. Try it once so you know you did not break your character. Full notes: hats. Walk the lamps on the lantern map before you assume the field has named zones. If you want a spare wakizashi, that is the Highborn pass or the shrine one-life pickup, not a code.

After the first duel

Win or lose, open three pages: controls for the binds you missed, how to fight for why the other person always seemed one stance ahead, and tier list so you stop copying a random kabuto. Patch-sensitive players should skim updates because muskets and shinobi silhouettes arrived during testing and may still be moving.

If you want the movie camera, type kurosawa in chat once and read cinematic mode so you can turn it off when you actually need to see a cut. If you want extra HUD help, the controls sheet is the printable version of this first hour.

You are already in a released game. There is no pre-create, no early-access gate, and no code to wait for. The gate is mechanical. Learn the three cuts, then stay.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Do I need a tutorial island?

No. Spawn is the tutorial. Use this page plus the controls guide. There is no separate beginner map documented.

Why did my avatar change?

The experience morphs you to R15. Hats and silhouettes still matter, but the body follows the melee system.

Can I play with friends?

Yes, on the same online server (up to 50 players). There is no local split-screen. VIP servers are not sold. See joining.

What should I grind first?

Competence with directional cuts. Armor from praying is optional until you can survive a duel without the kabuto.
